San Francisco Writers Conference 2011

San Francisco Writers Conference was chock full of good information and opportunities. Had a very successful workshop co-facilitated with Tanya Engan about writer critique groups and critique skills. Hung out with some poets on Friday and Saturday evening who were great fun and new found friends. Got inspiration from key note speakers Dorothy Allison, “Sometimes we get lost in the technique, go back to the writing,” and David Morrell, “The only thing we have is time. Don’t screw with it. Write the book you want to write.” Amos White gave the best social media marketing presentation I have heard yet. He’s also a cool poet. There are many writer conferences out there, this is the one to attend if you want the best practices of the business of Authoring.

>SFWC – the Business of Authorship

>The San Francisco Writers Conference is over and after attending four conferences I have to say while every year they’ve been great, this year really rocked! This is THE conference to learn about the business of writing and being an author. The presenters are generous with their time and advice. The organizers dedicated to taking down the walls between the emerging and the established and ensuring new writers have the tools they need to become authors. If a writer can only go to one conference – this is the one to attend. If you missed it this year, plan to attend next year.
